As part of the traditional bottling and aging process, many premium distilleries utilize natural cork closures. Over time—particularly with older releases—these natural corks can become brittle, dry out, or gradually degrade.
Consequently, on rare occasions, you may notice minute organic cork particles or fine sediment present within your sample. Please be assured that this is a completely natural, harmless occurrence and is widely recognized within the curation of aged spirits. The presence of these small cork fragments does not indicate a defect, nor does it compromise the safety, quality, or flavor profile of the whisky.
Should you encounter any natural cork sediment in your sample, we recommend allowing the particles to settle to the bottom of your tasting glass before enjoying the spirit. Alternatively, you may pour the sample through a fine mesh strainer if you prefer a completely clear pour.
