Launceston Distillery 'Tasmanian Whisky Week 2022 Rum Cask Finish' Various Size Samples

Bourbon cask matured single malt whisky that was then finished for an additional 9 months in a beautiful 50 litre rum cask created especially for us by Transwood Cooperage. The single malt was then analysed at a number of different strengths by Chris before landing on 44.5% ABV. This ABV was the perfect point at which the rum influence sat perfectly on the palate.

This is the first rum cask release done by Launceston Distillery and this is a once off release. There will not be any more rum cask releases from Launceston Distillery for the next few years at least.
